"For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it
is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."
- Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)
If you have repented* and are trusting Jesus
Christ to pay the penalty you owe for sin, and Jesus Christ
alone, then...
Tell God what you think about what
Jesus has done. That is called praying. There are
no special words. Just say what is on your heart.
Read your Bible every day.
Just like food nourishes your body, God's word nourishes your
soul.
If you do not have a Bible, we recommend
getting either the New Living Translation (NLT) or the New
International Version (NIV). There are many other good translations**,
but these are two of the easier Bibles to read. Many people
have a King James Version (KJV). The KJV can be purchased
for as little as $1.00. The King James Version is a very accurate,
beautiful translation, but the old style English is difficult
to read and understand. When first starting to read the Bible
we recommend either an NLT or NIV bible, and waiting to read
the KJV until you are more experienced.
From the NIV - Romans 8:1
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Find a good church.
This can be somewhat difficult, because all churches
claim to believe in Jesus Christ.
All claim to be Christ-centered and Bible-based.
To start there are some churches which are
easily eliminated, such as: LDS (Mormons), Jehovah's Witnesess,
Unitarian (any universal type church), and Christian Scientists.
None of these are Christian. Why not? Because none believe
in the Biblical Jesus Christ, but instead they have all created
their own Jesus Christ.
How do you recognize
a good church?
Once you repent and start to trust Jesus
for your salvation,
nothing can take your salvation away.
From the NLT - Romans 8:38, 39
"And I am convinced that nothing
can ever separate us from His love. Death can't, and life
can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for
today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of
hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above
the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will
ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed
in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God and and desire to, and work to obey God.
** Other good translations
include the New American Standard Bible (NASB). This would
be the Bible we recommend, once you have some experience with
the Bible, should you wish to do an indepth Bible study.
